Technology Transfer

The Health Research and Innovation Center includes the Tech Transfer Office at UNT Health Fort Worth. Tech transfer offices at universities are responsible for helping move new technology and discoveries out of the university to outside organizations that will use the technology to create new products and solutions.

Our tech transfer team helps guide the growth of innovators and their ideas to impactful solutions for a healthier community. We support this journey by managing the entire lifecycle of an invention, from patent prosecution and marketing to forging commercial partnerships. Through tailored programs, resources, and learning opportunities, we help bring innovations to life.

Submit a DisclosureReview IP Policy

Instructions for submitting a UNT Health Disclosure.

  1. Select the Submit a Disclosure button above.
  2. You will be redirected to the disclosure platform in which you can use your SSO UNT Health log in credentials.
  3. You will be redirected to the disclosure platform in which you can use your SSO UNT Health log in credentials.
  4. Once logged in, the Invention Disclosure form will open or you can directly open the Invention Disclosure Form. Note: you must be logged into the disclosure platform for the form to open.
  5. Under the Question “What type of Innovation do you wish to disclose” check the radial button I May Have an Invention or I May Have a Creative Work depending on which disclosure you'd like to submit.
  6. Fill out our simple web-based form and attach the slide deck and any other written descriptions/support documents you have.
  7. You can save your progress as a draft until you are ready to submit it to our office for review. 
    • To return to a draft, you will use your SSO credentials by visiting the direct disclosure login page.
    • Navigate to the upper right corner where your initails are.
    • Select My Content.
    • Select the draft you'd like to continue working from the dropdown.
    • Select Edit Mode at the top of the page.
    • Select Invention Disclosure from the left side margin.
  8. When you are ready to submit check the radial button next to “I understand this disclosure is submitted pursuant to the HSC Intellectual Property Policy.”
  9. Once the disclosure has been officially submitted, our Tech Transfer team will send you a formal acknowledgement and the next steps.
