Dr. Eul Hyun Suh

Assistant Professor and PI

Dr. Suh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the UNT Health College of Pharmacy. Her research focuses on molecular imaging, particularly in visualizing disease-associated metabolic alterations using MRI and metabolic imaging techniques such as dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (d-DNP). Dr. Suh earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from UT Southwestern Medical Center. Her graduate research focused on the development of molecular imaging probes for metabolic imaging in cancer metabolism and various biosensing applications. Following her Ph.D., Dr. Suh completed her postdoctoral training at the Advanced Imaging Research Center at UT Southwestern, where she developed novel MR probes for imaging metabolites, bio-metals and tissue pH using MRI.  At UNT Health, Dr. Suh leads research focused on investigating metabolic alterations associated with diabetes and menopause-related cognitive decline using advanced metabolic imaging techniques.

Dr Ritu Raj Postdoc

Dr. Ritu Raj

Postdoctoral Fellow

I received doctorate from University of Kalyani, India in Biochemistry. During Ph.D, I was working in the area of structure based drug discovery against Histone like protein of Helicobacter pylori and gained experience on various in-silico and bio-physical techniques for investigating the molecular interaction between proteins and small drug-like molecules. At the Dr. Suh Lab in UNT Health, I am working on in-vivo pancreatic MR imaging for investigating b-cells functions. My research goals are to develop novel in-vivo methods for tracking alteration in b-cells function during diabetic condition. Other than research, I like to explore the natural world and finding inspiration in wild landscapes.

Randy Afrane Ph.d Student

Dr. Afrane Randy

Graduate Research Assistant

I hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. After graduation, I practiced as a pharmacist in both clinical and retail settings. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Science at UNT Health, with a concentration in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacotherapy. My work at the Suh lab focuses on metabolomics and Preclinical molecular imaging in aging, specifically investigating metabolic changes  to better understand critical interventions to help healthy aging and prevent conditions as cognitive dysfunction. Outside the lab, I’m passionate about fitness and dedicated to mentoring the next generation of scientists.
